Bee Cave expansion to grow workforce by 1,000+ employees by 2030, strengthening domestic space and defense capabilities

AUSTIN, Texas, March 6, 2026—CesiumAstro, a leading U.S. designer and manufacturer of mission-critical, AI-enabled, software-defined space and defense systems, today announced a significant expansion of its global headquarters in Bee Cave, Texas, with the acquisition of nearly 270,000 square feet of advanced manufacturing space, expanding capacity for continued growth tomorrow.

The expansion represents a $500 million capital investment over the next five years and is expected to grow the company’s Austin workforce by 550 jobs, bringing the total to over 1,000 employees by 2030.

Supported by the State of Texas’ continued investment in space innovation and advanced manufacturing, and in part by funding from the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) the expansion strengthens CesiumAstro’s role in delivering next-generation space and defense systems that connect, detect and defend across commercial, government and national security missions.

“Scaling our U.S. operations is critical as CesiumAstro continues to build the space communications infrastructure required for an increasingly contested and connected world. Texas understands what it takes to lead in the new space economy—technical excellence, long-term vision and strong public-private collaboration. We’re grateful to Governor Greg Abbott and the Texas Space Commission for their continued support as we expand domestic manufacturing, strengthen national security capabilities and deliver the mission-critical, AI-enabled, software-defined systems that will define the future of space, and our national security” said Shey Sabripour, Founder and CEO of CesiumAstro.

Expansion Details

The expanded headquarters will support precision electronics and spacecraft manufacturing and advanced engineering operations, enabling CesiumAstro to design and build mission critical space and defense systems that are AI enabled. And the new global headquarters will allow for engineering, manufacturing, testing and delivering under one roof.

Operations are expected to begin on a phased timeline, with continued facility build-out and workforce growth occurring over the coming years. The expansion creates high-technology jobs and positions Texas as a national hub for space innovation and resilient domestic supply chains.

Community Partnership

CesiumAstro has operated in the Bee Cave community for nine years, with many employees living and working locally. As the company grows, it remains committed to being a responsible community partner, supporting local economic development while advancing innovation that serves global customers and U.S. national priorities.

"We're proud to be an active member of the local community and to advance innovation and support national security from our base here in Texas," added Sabripour. "We're grateful to the city of Bee Cave for their continued collaboration and support."
