CesiumAstro’s wideband Active Phased Array (APA1701-130), which includes the antenna elements, power and low-noise amplifiers, beamformer, and point-of-load power converters, provides electronic steering in a plug-and-play module. The APA’s low mass and low profile make it well-suited for space-constrained systems, such as LEO satellites, launch vehicles, and other airborne platforms. The wide steerability (+/- 60 degrees) with built-in control module allows for tracking without mechanical movements and low user elevation angles. The APA is constructed in 9 cm by 9 cm tiles, and each tile can act either as a standalone unit or a building block for a larger array.
APA operates in Ku-band with right-(RHCP) and or left-hand circular polarization (LHCP). When paired with Cesium’s SDR and frequency converter, the APA allows for plug-and-play communication system.
